Zachary Gray (BA ’15), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department‘s BA Program in Musical Theatre, will direct Fugitive Songs, presented by BoHo Theatre February 11-March 13 at the Heartland Studio Theatre, located at 7016 N. Glenwood in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
With music by Chris Miller and lyrics by Nathan Tysen, this innovative theatrical song cycle focuses on everyday people on the run: a disgruntled Subway sandwich employee, a jilted ex-cheerleader, a pair of Patty Hearst fanatics, a stoner forced to rob a convenience store against his will, and many others. The writers blend traditional folk music with contemporary pop and gospel to create a moving portrait of restlessness in America.
