American Water has established a scholarship program to assist students in eligible states who plan to continue their education at a 4-year college and pursue a non-medical STEM or business major.
The American Water Impact Scholarship Program is awarding scholarships of $10,000 each to students in the states where American Water operates.
Eligibility
Applicants to the American Water Impact Scholarship Program must meet at least ONE of following criteria:
- First-generation college student, OR
- Demonstrate strong community service involvement and/or leadership experience, OR
- Demonstrate academic and career interest in water/wastewater, sustainability, or engineering fields
AND meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
- Pursue a non-medical STEM or business major
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
- Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates residing and/or attending college in one of the following states:
- Alabama
- California
- Florida
- Georgia
- Hawaii
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maryland
- Missouri
- New Jersey
- New York
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Pennsylvania
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Utah
- Virginia
- Washington
- West Virginia
