American Water Impact Scholarship

American Water has established a scholarship program to assist students in eligible states who plan to continue their education at a 4-year college and pursue a non-medical STEM or business major.

The American Water Impact Scholarship Program is awarding scholarships of $10,000 each to students in the states where American Water operates.

Eligibility

Applicants to the American Water Impact Scholarship Program must meet at least ONE of following criteria:

  • First-generation college student, OR
  • Demonstrate strong community service involvement and/or leadership experience, OR
  • Demonstrate academic and career interest in water/wastewater, sustainability, or engineering fields

AND meet ALL of the following requirements:

  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Pursue a non-medical STEM or business major
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates residing and/or attending college in one of the following states:
    • Alabama
    • California
    • Florida
    • Georgia
    • Hawaii
    • Illinois
    • Indiana
    • Iowa
    • Kansas
    • Kentucky
    • Louisiana
    • Maryland
    • Missouri
    • New Jersey
    • New York
    • Ohio
    • Oklahoma
    • Pennsylvania
    • Tennessee
    • Texas
    • Utah
    • Virginia
    • Washington
    • West Virginia
