Eligibility
Each entry must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the scholarship:
- Must be accepted to a U.S. based university or college (scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to your school)
- All fields of study are eligible
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be a legal resident of the United States
- Must submit a written essay between 800 – 1,250 words
- Must provide at least two completed letters of recommendation (recommendation letter form)
- Please submit all documents in English
- Cannot be an employee or family member of an employee of Spokeo
- Submissions must be received by 11:59PM PT on Wednesday, June 28, 2023
- Scholarship winner will be selected July 26, 2023

Essay Topic
Please use the following prompt for your essay:
Artificial Intelligence
As AI technology such as ChatGPT becomes more publicly available, how can this technology be used to work with and improve humanity? How would your ideas play out in your own life, future work and career field? What are the downsides and risks?
* If you use an AI app to help you write the essay, it is acceptable so long as you append notes that describe your process, e.g. which AI app(s) did you use? what prompts did you provide it? etc.
How to apply
1. Write your essay – Essay must be between 800 – 1,250 words.
2. Submit your application: Send an email with the subject line “Application for Fall 2023 Scholarship” to scholarships@spokeo.com and be sure to include:

Separately, provide at least two recommendation letters via Google Forms.
To ensure that each recommendation letter is linked to your essay and photo, make sure the same email address you use to send in your essay is listed as the “Student’s Email Address” on the recommendation letter form.

3. Proof of enrollment will be required
If selected as a finalist, you will be required to provide proof of enrollment for scholarship consideration prior to award disbursement.
