Music Composition for the Screen, MFA
I am a current second year student at Columbia College Chicago studying for my MFA in Music Composition for the Screen. I have composed for students at Columbia and am working on animations and a new film this year. In my spare time I love being outdoors and hanging out with my wife and my 2 dogs.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT YOU WERE DOING BEFORE YOU CAME TO COLUMBIA.
Before I came to Columbia for grad school, I was attending Columbia for my undergrad degree as well. So I guess ultimately before I came here for my undergrad I was working a bunch of odd jobs to get my bills paid and get to the point where I could move to attend this great College.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE COLUMBIA FOR YOUR GRADUATE STUDY?
I chose Columbia for a few reasons. First are the amazing opportunities it offers; from studying under men and women in the industry, to working with students in the film and game departments and helping to bring their works to life with music. Second, because I attended the college during my undergrad, I was able to see first hand how great the grad program was by getting to know colleagues that were already studying here. and finally, I loved Chicago way to much to leave just yet.
TELL US ABOUT A PROJECT YOU’RE WORKING ON THAT YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT.
I was recently picked up for a practicum film at the school that I was very intrigued by during the Manifest practicum trailers this May. I am very excited to work on this film more in depth, and bring my best abilities to the table.
