Visit the library to view our display of one of a kind, codex-inspired artist books that resulted from the HUMA121 course, “Latin American Art, Literature, and Music” taught by Jesus Macarena-Avila. Alongside the book display is a small community “ofrenda” inspired by the Mexican holiday, Dias de los Muertos.
This ofrenda remembers student activism as well as activists murdered by crime syndicates and impacted by political corruption. For example, Julio César Mondragón Fontes (1982-2014), a Mexican college student who fought for education rights.
