The Library’s ARTIVISM project is currently seeking student, staff, faculty, and alumni curators for upcoming exhibitions in our dedicated ARTIVISM gallery space on the Library’s 5th Floor.
ARTIVISM explores the intersections of political action and creative work across genre. From written manifestos to street art, from political theatre to documentary film, this ongoing initiative will investigate the way our desires for activism and message impact our artmaking, as well as the ways that artmaking enhances political protest, subverts the status quo, and furthers action across communities.
The Library will be accepting proposals through December 15th, 2021 from all members of the campus community for upcoming exhibitions in 2022. All formats and mediums welcome, including classroom collaborations, group and solo exhibitions, and more. If selected, the Library will work with curators on installation details, as well as possible related programs, material displays, and building a concurrent virtual exhibit online.
Send all proposals to kbowen@colum.edu .
