Library Zine Night: Apocalypse Edition

Join us for our March Zine Night—devoted to Apocalyptic zines and indie publications. We will also be working on a collaborative zine called THE END TIMES that will make it’s debut at the Chicago Zine Fest in May.

Students, are you feeling a little stressed? Relax in one of the best ways we know: with dogs! Get your pats and belly rubs in with the Canine Therapy Corps.

Apocalypse, USA Artist Roundtable
March 8th, 6-8pm
Join us for the kick off event of our APOCALYPSE, USA Exhibit in the Library. The panel will feature a discussion and resource sharing with participating artists.
The Secret to Astral Projecting

Library staff explore techniques for using meditation to reach the astral plain. Meditation is also a great way to reduce stress, improve concentration, self-awareness, and happiness in your life.
Book to Art Club: Grimm’s Fairytales
March 14th, 6-8pm
Any edition of the Tales of the Brothers Grimm will do (and the varying illustrations are a bonus!) Stop by the library to check out one of our copies or get one through interlibrary loan (or scope out the versions of the tales available online). Each session, we will be exploring a variety of art and craft techniques, culminating in a year’s end collaborative limited edition book arts project.
How to Tuesday (on Monday): Junk Art, Found Art, and Upcycling
March 26th, 6-8pm
Join the library for a chance to make trash into treasure! We will have all sorts of defunct technology, random cast-offs, and art materials on hand for an evening of making wonderful things from everyday detritus. Demos and tutorials included.

Join us for an evening of trivia from all corners of apocalyptic cinema, from giant spiders to zombies. From meteors to catastrophic plagues. Win prizes! Eat snacks!
