Perhaps the most valuable informational resources today, DATA impact what we know and how we know it, whether in social sciences, journalism, the arts, or business.  Fortunately, more and more tools are available to find and use data without requiring us to be experts in statistics and technology.

The Library subscribes to several data tools that are used in business and professional contexts and are extremely useful tools for entrepreneurs and other curious types.  The more familiar you are with data tools, the better you are prepared for your career in our data driven culture.

Here are some of our favorites:

MINTEL Brands, companies, markets and consumers. Market Intelligence delivering data you need and telling you what it means.

STATISTA  One of the world’s largest statistics portals with eye-catching infographics you can include in reports, Powerpoint presentations, etc.

SimplyAnalytics  Powerful analytics and data visualization.  Create maps to compare data over a geographic area, make rankings of data in those locations, generate business lists, and create detailed reports of various data compared by location.  Data drawn from the Census Bureau and other government agencies as well as data from marketing research companies.
