With Oscar season just around the corner, the oldest film competition in North America kicks off on Thursday, October 13, 2016 featuring more than 125 films from over 50 countries plus panel discussions and other special events. Student tickets for most screenings are $11 with a valid ID.  All films are screened at AMC River East 21, off of North Michigan Avenue at 322 E. Illinois St.

Take in major Hollywood studios productions, films from independent film makers and international foreign language films in a dozen categories including: Documentary, Musicals, Cinema of the Americas, Black Perspectives, and Out-Look (LGBT themed films).

Don’t miss the New Director’s Competition films sponsored by Columbia College Chicago and the free panel discussion New Directors Panel: The Political and the Personal, Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 3:00 pm on campus at 1104 S. Wabash Avenue.
