Library Zine Night

November 7th, 6-10pm

Join us for our November Zine Night, a chance for you to work alone or collaboratively on zines, comics, artist books or other paper projects in the library. This month’s theme on the eve of the election is “Politics and Activism,” but all zine-making endeavors are welcome and encouraged.

 

Newbie Night Open Mic!

November 9th, 7-9pm

A comedy open mic for all Columbia students!! Columbia College Chicago Comedy Club (5C’s) presents Newbie Night Open Mic! A place for all of 5C’s new members to test their stand up material!

 

Identi(tea)s: It’s A Fabulous World After All

November 11th, 5:30-7:30pm

Salon Series: Sundress Publications

November 15th, 6-8pm

Join us for our November Salon Series, featuring Sundress authors KRISTIN LATOUR and DONNA VORREYER. Sundress Publications is a (mostly) woman-run, woman-friendly non-profit publication group founded in 2000 that hosts a variety of online journals and publishes chapbooks and full-length collections in both print and digital formats.

 

Scrabble Showdown for Writers

November 18th, 1-5pm

Join the Columbia College Library Gaming Society for the First Ever Scrabble Showdown for Writers, pitting Columbia’s best wordsmiths against each other in a battle for supremacy.  Poets vs. Novelists!  Essayists vs. Screenwriters!  Journalists vs. dramatists! (book lovers, vocab enthusiasts, and scrabble geniuses welcome to compete as well!) We will be tallying points all afternoon to determine our champ, so feel free to stop by to play a few rounds and join in at any time.

 

Thanksgiving Break: Library Closed

November 24th-27th

The Library will be closed from Thursday, November 24th through Sunday, November 27th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Library will reopen at 7:30 am on Monday, November 28th.
