Calling all student designers and stylists! Help us celebrate ‘The Maltese Falcon,’ a book credited with creating the hard-boiled detective archetype and its female counterpart, the femme fatale.
Win cash prizes by designing or styling a look to walk the runway during the Femme Fatale/Film Noir Fashion Show on April 27th.
We are seeking looks in a revamped 1940’s film noir aesthetic – designers can make clothes or repurpose their own clothes – creating a new noir-style. Students are encouraged to gender-bend their looks and the best ensembles will be selected for prizes.
To enter:
1) Design or style a ‘noir look’ for the 21st century. You may use your own clothes instead of making clothes. Non-binary looks are encouraged.
2) Email Molly Hart (mhart@colum.edu) by April 15th with a short description of your look and who will model your look (you can model your own look).
3) Attend the show on April 27th from 7-9 pm in the Library to enjoy the runway, music, mocktails, candy cigarettes, and so much more!
