In conjunction with The Big Read at Columbia College Chicago, the 14th Annual Edible Books and Tea will be held on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013 from 6-8pm in the Columbia College Chicago Library, 624 S. Michigan Ave., 3rd Fl, North.
This year, entries can be inspired by Julia Alvarez’s novel, In the Time of the Butterflies as this year’s themes are “Influences of the Caribbean” and “Protest, Sacrifice and Hope” or any literary-oriented theme of your choice.
We invite you to create a book-like sculpture from edible materials reflecting these themes and bring it to the Columbia College Chicago Library where it will be consumed by book-loving gourmets! Prize categories include: Best in Show, Most Book-Like, Best Visual Pun, Best Presentation and Most Likely to be Devoured.
