I’m sure you’re more than aware that we’ve officially hit the one-year mark of the pandemic. It’s been especially hard experiencing flashbacks of all the negative things that happened, and the feelings associated. Although, a lot of it is blurry. Last year feels like ages ago, but also like it was yesterday. And it’s an uncomfortable feeling.
I’m still struggling with finding the balance of being grateful for my positive experiences during this time and being frustrated with the fact that we’ve been in a pandemic for a year, to say the least. The most helpful piece of advice I can give to myself and others is to not feel guilty about any of your feelings you’ve had during the pandemic, or ever. Your experience is valid; therefore, your feelings are valid. I find that positive affirmations help. That’s as simple as vocalizing to yourself, “my feelings are valid.” Find what works best for you!
Until next time,
