Ben Tull, one of Columbia’s very own film students, has just been honored with a Student Emmy! Tull wrote and directed a PSA about the dangers of texting and driving that was recently recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with the Student Production Award. The short film, titled NBD, stars another Columbia student, Alexis Kirkpatrick, who attended high school with Tull and is now pursuing her acting degree.

The short has been picked up by driving schools in Massachusetts, who are using the film’s powerful message to promote road safety and awareness. Take a look!
