Working Wednesday: Sarah Impola, Graphic Design Major

Meet Sarah Impola! Sarah is a Graphic Design student and a student designer in the Career Center who we couldn’t live without!

Sarah will be starting a new internship with the Chicago Children’s Museum this semester, as a result of meeting the internship coordinator at Columbia’s Spring 2017 Job and Internship Fair. At the time of the fair, the museum was hiring for other opportunities and did not have any design-related openings available. However, the hiring manager kept Sarah’s resume (which was reviewed by a Peer Coach in the Career Center) and reached out to her a few weeks before the Fall 2017 semester started. Sarah was encouraged to apply and through the help of her Internship and Career Advisor, Jo-Nell Sieren, secured the position.

We asked Sarah what she’s looking forward to in the internship, and she replied:

“I’m most excited to learn from their design team and to see things that I design in use around the museum. When I had my interview, the creative director gave me a tour of the museum and pointed out all the things interns created, so I’m excited to contribute to that. “
Great work, Sarah!
