The Park District of Highland Park is currently seeking adults who have teaching experience in dance to teach children grades 1-3 and 4-7 in our arts camp preferably currently studying or have obtained a degree in dance or a related field in the arts. Potential dance teacher applicants should possess great leadership skills, organization, creativity, professionalism, and the ability to multitask. The goal for the dance class is for campers to learn the basics of multiple forms of dance including some terminology and the ability to perform short dances for the showcase at the end of the four weeks and the final performance at the end of the seven weeks. Applicants must have excellent classroom management skills, high energy and flexibility, and a heart for kids!
Camps run June 17-Aug 7, 9:00 am to 3:00pm, up to four days a week. Paid training will be the week of June 8.
