CTAS: A New Student Organization Empowering Students

The School of Business and Entrepreneurship is proud to house a new student organization, CTAS or Created to Achieve Success, dedicated to empowering students and promoting academic success during their time at Columbia. Founded in November 2023 by a group of students led by Caleb McDermott (Photography Major / Entrepreneurship Minor), CTAS aims to provide affordable educational resources to students across all majors and disciplines.

Recognizing the financial burden of textbooks and other course materials, CTAS has taken the initiative to establish a textbook lending library. Located in the Student Life Lofts of the Columbia Student Center, this library will allow students to borrow used textbooks, making them more accessible and affordable. By sharing resources, CTAS is fostering a sense of community and empowering students to achieve their academic goals.

To support their mission, CTAS recently launched a successful crowdfunding campaign aimed at building resources for their next semester. The funds raised will be used to expand the library’s collection and provide additional resources to students in need. By leveraging the power of crowdfunding, CTAS is demonstrating the impact that student-led initiatives can have on the campus community.
