Ad Club: Elevating Student Careers
The School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s Ad Club, led by faculty advisor and Associate Professor Peg Murphy, has been making waves amongst students hoping to enter the advertising and communications industry. This dynamic student organization provides students with invaluable opportunities to network with industry professionals, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for successful careers in advertising.
One of the many highlights of this semester for Ad Club was the visit to Edelman, one of the leading global PR and marketing consultancy firms. Students had the chance to tour the office, learn about internship opportunities, and meet with renowned industry leaders, including John and Renee Edelman.
The Ad Club also hosted a fun and informative event, “Ad Autopsy,” where alumni joined current students to dissect recent advertising and social media campaigns and enjoy the Halloween festivities with industry professionals. Alumni from organizations like McDonald’s, FCB, Arc Worldwide, and Superdigital shared their insights and experiences, inspiring our students towards careers in advertising.
Every semester, Ad Club exposes students to workshops to assist in building materials such as portfolios, resumes, and networking skills in hopes to propel them into roles in creative careers. Through these experiences and many more, the Ad Club is empowering students to reach their full potential and make a significant impact in the world of advertising and communications.
