This event will feature three Columbia faculty members in a dynamic roundtable discussion regarding Entrepreneurship in today’s art world. The discussion will focus on the different ways entrepreneurship tools can be applied across practices in order to help students becomes successful artists and art leaders.
Prior to joining the AEMM faculty, Dr. Terri Lonier led the strategy consulting firm Working Solo, Inc., which guided Fortune 100 and high-tech firms in reaching the small business marketplace. Her passion for entrepreneurship has led her to be recognized as one of the country’s leading experts in entrepreneurship and microbusiness. Justin Sinkovich is the co-founder of two acclaimed music websites, Epitonic.com and betterPropaganda.com, and has managed distribution for record labels Cargo and Touch and Go. In addition to being a member of AEMM’s faculty, he is also an alum of the graduate program. Don Smith is an Associate Professor in Film & Video. His credits as an independent filmmaker, producer, and editor include Moviemento, Grit and Polish, and the feature film Threads, which was an official selection of the Venice Biennale. He is also co-founder of Columbia’s signature Semester in LA program, which has built a solid reputation in Hollywood and a network of hundreds of working entertainment industry professionals.
