AA+A Celebrates its Graduating Seniors and Student Award Winners

Date: 4/26/2011

This year’s Manifest Reception for the AA+A Department will be dedicated to our students, recognizing our graduating seniors and their families and honoring the 2010-2011 student Scholarship and Grammy award winners.

The reception will be held on Friday, 5/13, 5:30-6:30pm, 624 S. Michigan Ave. College Library, 3rd Floor Gallery. Come celebrate with us!

We anticipate that our scholarship donors as well as representatives from the Recording Academy will also join the reception.

This is an opportunity for all of us at AA+A to interact with our future colleagues and their families and recognize our graduating seniors’ successful work. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the academic and creative accomplishments of our 2010-2011 award winning students:

Karl Eifrig is this year’s recipient of the Hammerman Scholarship . We congratulate Karl for maintaining a perfect academic record and for succeeding in impressing his teachers with his dedication, intellectual rigor, and dependability.

We also congratulate the following Hammerman Scholarship finalists whose top performance brought them to the 2010-2011 nomination list: Geena Sondy, Matt McQuaid, and Bob Gronski.

Ryan Aughenbaugh is this year’s recipient of the Jeremy Jefferies Hill Scholarship in Acoustics . Our congratulations to Ryan for achieving a very high academic record, receiving a perfect score on his Math GRE, and demonstrating growing commitment to and focus on his studies and educational and professional future in Acoustics, while remaining an active recording engineer and computer programmer for audio algorithms.

Finally, AA+A students/alumni Chris Powley, Bob Garcia, and Nick Ledesma received 2010 Grammy Award credit as assistant engineers in producer and adjunct faculty Michael Freeman’s 2010 Best Traditional Blues Album Grammy win , announced in February 2011.  Congratulations Chris, Bob, and Nick for inspiring confidence in your teachers to involve you in such an important project and for contributing to an award winning work; congratulations Michael Freeman and Michael Slaboch (also a Grammy nominated faculty member) for inspiring your students to aim high!

Again, come celebrate with us during our AA+A Manifest Reception!
