Audio Arts & Acoustics Student Plays White House Halloween Event

Date: 11/16/2009

Audio Arts & Acoustics student Ehsan Ghoreishi (accordion) and Columbia Alum Doug Abram (BA ’98) (saxophone) are members of the Black Bear Combo, a group that formed in Chicago in 2002 and has since performed across the United States. Their sound is a fusion of traditional music from Eastern Europe and Balkan Gypsy bands mixed with the members’ backgrounds in noise and free jazz.

In September, at the insistence of Redmoons’s musical director Mark Messing,  the group was asked to be a part of Redmoon Theatre’s spectacle event at the annual White House Halloween Party & Trick o’ Treat in Washington, D.C.

You can join their group on Facebook —  Black Bear Combo
