The InterArts department welcomes Aaron Landsman as a visiting artist. He will be giving a public lecture this Thursday, April 17, in the Raw Space on the second floor (room 205) of 1104 S. Wabash.
Landsman uses performance, acting and teaching as part of his artistic practice. Fascinated by the way power is performed, he uses formal experimentation and long term community engagement to challenge the faces of the city. His performances are often in public places such as side walks, offices and private homes. Landsman has collaborated with church choirs, engineers, homeless young people, a tourism board, high school students and local government officials. His work has been funded by The Jerome Foundation, The Bosssak-Heilbron Foundation, the Vogelstein Foundation, Brooklyn Arts Council and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, among others.
