CALL FOR ENTRIES: A Response Exhibition to Poems & Pictures:

The InterArts graduate student organizations Pulp, Ink, & Thread and IMAGe Unit announce a call for artwork entries for a Response Exhibition to the CBPA Gallery show opening tonight. The exhibition, Poems & Pictures: A Renaissance in the Art of the Book (1946–1981) opens tonight (reception will be from 5:00–8:00 p.m.), and offers visitors a unique opportunity to interact with the curator and learn more about his vision. The Response Exhibition will open in the weeks following, in the InterArts GALLEY space at 1104 S. Wabash, 2nd floor.

PIT and IMAGe Unit are interested in current MFA’s responses to the exhibition, and the curator Kyle Schlesinger’s view of the relationships between visual and language arts. The exhibition explores fundamental relationships between form and content; seeing and reading; writing and drawing; and the extraordinary occasions when these things and activities fuse.

SUBMISSIONS MUST BE LEFT IN THE SOUTH STUDIOS drop off space by next Wednesday, February 15. The Drop Off space is located on top of the flat files inside the east entrance. Questions: email kathleen.beste@loop.colum.edu
