The NCECA 50th Anniversary Conference, Makers, Mentors and Milestones, will be held in Kansas City, MO at the Kansas City Convention Center, March 16-19, 2016. In conjunction with the conference, the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center will host the 2016 NCECA National Student Juried Exhibition March 4 – April 30, 2016.

The 2016 NCECA NSJE is open to full-time undergraduate, graduate and post-baccalaureate students (as defined by their home institution) enrolled in the United States of America. The applicant must be working towards a degree or be a post-baccalaureate in art at the time of submittal.

The University of Alaska Anchorage Student Union Gallery is proud to present the 30th Annual No Big Heads, a national juried self-portrait competition of limited size.

Eligible Entries

The No Big Heads Self Portrait Exhibition is open to all artists. Works must be no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches in any direction, including framing and hanging materials. Gallery management reserves the right to disqualify any works that exceed the size criteria.

Entries must have been completed with the last three years and cannot have been exhibited in any previous UAA Student Union Gallery exhibition.

Limit of two entries per person. Works accepted in all media. Weight limitation is 65 pounds. All pieces must arrive ready to hang or display.

Awards

$1000 for Best of Show and a summer 2016 solo exhibit at the UAA Student Union Gallery

$1000 in other cash prizes

Artists between the ages of 13 and 17 may electronically submit portraits to the juried competition in the medium of painting and drawing, photography, and video throughWednesday, September 30 2015. The grand-prize portrait will be printed and displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in 2016.
