The Uncommon Thread Wearable Art Show is now accepting submissions for the multidisciplinary presentation of wearable art from around the country to take place on December 5 at the Main Library in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This year’s theme, Epilogue, asks artists to meditate on notable books, authors, or literary characters and use wearable art as means of opening up a conversation about these influences. Juror Wylie Sofia Garcia will both curate the competition and award the $1000 grand prize.
Broad interpretation of the theme is acceptable for entry but the winning artwork should demonstrate a clear connection to the concept, sound construction, and innovative design. Culture Candy recommends you download the prospectus and guidelines to submitting to the show before starting the process. The Uncommon Thread crew is available to take questions from prospective applicants, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
