Angela Davis Fegan’s Lavender Menace Project in Chicago Magazine

Chicago Magazine has picked up on the provocative political art of Angela Davis Fegan, a thesis-year Book & Paper student. In a March 31 article, “What Political Art in Chicago Looks Like Today,” author Jason Foumberg includes Fegan’s work among several other local artists who challenge the stays quo. Foumberg first saw Fegan’s work in our very own exhibition space The Galley in 1104 S Wabash. The space is curated by PIT (Pulp, Ink, & Thread), a Book and Paper program student group.

“Political art can lead viewers to a place of frustration and provocation. Maybe that’s where change really begins to stir,” Foumberg notes in his article. Click on the link below to read more on how Fegan’s Lavender Menace project, which raises the stakes on accepting dominant tropes in mainstream gay movements, fits the bill.
