Hybrid Forms & Interdisciplinary Practice
Where: Hokin Gallery, Columbia College Chicago, Chicago , Illinois

Submission Deadline: July 15, 2015… EXTENDED to July 24
Acceptance Announcements: August 1.
Eligible work: Visual Art, Media, Time-Based Work, Photography, Internet-Based Work, Sculpture, Installation, Sound, Writing, and Performance.

This juried exhibition calls for the best interdisciplinary work by BA & BFA students that demonstrates interdisciplinary risk taking, experimentation and conceptual rigor. The Hokin Gallery will be host openings on September 18th during Chicago Art Expo week and October 20th for the Wabash Avenue Arts Crawl.
There is no entry fee to enter work, though students will need to have an account with the online SlideRoom portfolio service to submit samples. The submission portal opened May 1, 2015, and it is acceptable to send work in progress, as long as it is finished and ready to ship by August 15th. Accepted artists are responsible for shipping to the gallery. The exhibition will pay for the return shipping.
Hybrid Forms & Interdisciplinary Practice is a juried exhibition. Juror: Buzz Spector works in a wide range of mediums including sculpture, photography, printmaking, book arts, and installation. Spector’s work has been shown in numerous museums and galleries including: Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.), and the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art (Prato, Italy). The recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, Spector was honored with the College Art Association’s Distinguished Teaching of Art Award in 2013. He is currently Professor of Art at the Sam Fox School at Washington University in St. Louis.
