CALL FOR HAND MADE PAPER

Mexico-city based artist Nuria Montiel will be in residence at Hyde Park Art Center this Fall (September 8-November 17) developing her practice, which connects printmaking, social practice and public art. While in Chicago, Nuria will be working with a mobile printmaking cart La Imprenta Movil to do workshops, demonstrations and embarking on collaborations across the city using her unique letter press technique. Once completed, Nuria will be posting the prints in public spaces around Chicago.

In preparation for Nuria’s residency, we are seeking handmade paper any artists would be willing to contribute to the project. Additionally, if any printmakers would be interested in working alongside Nuria to share techniques and participate in workshops or projects, please contact Megha Ralapati at mralapati@hydeparkart.org for more information.

The Jackman Goldwasser Residency at Hyde Park Art Center seeks to catalyze networks by connecting global artists to the unique resources and opportunities offered by Chicago. The program invites visiting artists to live and work alongside Chicago-based artists, deepening the engagement between local and international contemporary art practices.
