Brent Koehn, 2014 Media MFA graduate, will be constructing three huge steel art barges that will float on the Chicago River as part of the The Great Chicago Fire Festival. Koehn will be working for the Red Moon Theatre, who is sponsoring the festival along with the City of Chicago.

The inaugural Great Chicago Fire Festival introduces what will become an annual tradition celebrating the diversity of Chicago’s great neighborhoods and the City’s powerful spirit of renewal. The Festival will culminate on October 4th, 2014 with a grand procession and fire spectacle on the main branch of the Chicago River. Tens of thousands will watch the procession and spectacle from Chicago’s newly developed riverfront, featuring acrobatics, live music, wild mechanical objects, and more.
