Jazmin Dua, a graduating senior at Columbia College, is the artist and author of The Birds Eye Project, where she conducted a 365 day photo surveillance project in which she surveilled those who surveill society, taking a photo of surveillance cameras throughout the city of Chicago.
She will be conducting a panel discussion on Tuesday April 22 on campus from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at 623 S. Wabash. The goal of the panel is to grow more awareness on surveillance and how it affects us within society and individually and what that means for our future. She would like the panel event to facilitate conversation between Columbia students, faculty, and staff on the critical and controversial issues regarding the topic of surveillance in Chicago and within our communities.
The event will include three different panelist who will touch on how surveillance impacts us daily, individually, psychologically, socially, and mentally within our society. Leo Selvaggio, a thesis year InterArts media student, is a panel speaker.
