Greta Bach, a thesis-year Book & Paper student, will be presenting her work,  FAULT LINES, tonight at 5:00 p.m., at 916 S. Wabash, room 207. The work publicly explores her relationship with an abusive past to spark thought, conversation, and reflection on dysfunction in the 21st century family. Through a visceral reminder of the past, Bach bids her audience to remember “the past influences the present, but does not dictate the future.”

Combining performance with handcrafted book arts objects to create a performative installation., Bach explores dynamics she experienced throughout her life, which are personal and at the same time universal. FAULT LINES forces participants and viewers to recall the familial gatherings of their childhoods, and gives them pause to reflect on their own experience of family dynamics.
