We are very happy to welcome visiting artist Chi-wang Yang to the Interdisciplinary Arts department. Along with conducting studio visits with students this week, on this Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 p.m. he will be giving a public lecture in the Raw Space (1104 S. Wabash, 2nd Floor).

Chi-wang Yang is part of the collaborative artist group Cloud Eye Control, a collaborative performance group from LA. A common theme in their work is human adaptation in a technological world.

To realize these stories, they project pre-rendered animation and live camera imagery onto various surfaces which functions as scenery and virtual actor using both high and low tech methods. These methods range from custom-built interactive video software to the physical manipulation of video puppets.

Chi-wang is an LA based theater director and digital media artist, committed to physical performance and interdisciplinary collaboration. His work synthesizes stage, media, and technology, and has been featured at REDCAT in LA, New York International Fringe Festival, among others.
