Penelope Hearne, a thesis-year media student, will be performing at The Dance Center on February 6, 7, & 8 in the Khecari and The Humans.  Khecari’s work is constructed around themes of decay’s fruition, while the Humans’ delves into time-based phenomena such as déjà vu, the fourth dimension, aging and the philosophy of “now.”  Hearne is performing with The Humans, led by Columbia dance instructor Rachel Bunting. Hearne also shot and edited video for the performance. She describes her artist practice as “creating installations and performance events through combining live dance, video projection, sound, sculpture and light.”

Khecari, a collaborative duo of Jonathan Meyer and Julia Rae Antonick, and The Humans, will share this weekend’s program featuring new works by Chicago-based choreographers. In addition to evening performances, events include an after-performance conversation on Thursday as well as a FamilyDance workshop and matinee on Saturday.
