The Crooked Mouth Releases New Music This Week in Chicago

This Saturday at 7:00 p.m., twenty new songs by The Crooked Mouth will blast onto the Chicago music scene at the release party at Links Hall in Lakeview. Band members have dubbed their new album Yes Face as the “long-awaited sophomore album” by the group, picking up where their debut CD ended. The CD’s twenty songs combine banjo and bluegrass sounds with folky show tune-y (almost) rock numbers. With a nod to the blues, the new work is fun, serious, sad and furious… one might even say quite transcendent!

The evening will feature the full Crooked Mouth ensemble of Beau O’Reilly, Jenny Magnus, Matt Test, Troy Martin, Vicki Walden performing the new record in its entirety, as well as four responders (Mark Booth, Mark Chrisler, Sheila Donohue, and Roell Schmidt), who will read works inspired by the songs on the new release.

The performance is this Saturday December 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Links Hall, 3111 North Western Avenue. To get advance tickets, click here.
