Next Monday December 9 will be Poster Night! at the CBPA Gallery. The closing reception for the Spotlight Exhibition Soviet Book and Literacy Programs: A Poster History from the Collection of William Cellini, Jr. will celebrate the poster as an art form with two talks and a poster giveaway.
Closing reception special events include two lectures. The first will feature Kathleen Tahk discussing the representation of space in the posters, particularly the collapse of rural and urban spaces. Following Professor Tahk, Bill Moran, Jim Moran, and Stephanie Carpenter from the Hamilton Wood Type Museum will briefly speak about research they are conducting in regards to the Globe Poster Collection that the Hamilton Woodtype Museum acquired in 2011.
