The New Media Caucus invites members including artists, art historians, and theorists to submit proposals for seven-minute lightning talks on to topic, Current Questions in New Media Art, for a 90-minute, off-site session during the 2014 College Art Association annual meeting in Chicago. The lightning talk format is intended to provide a wide range of ideas in a short amount of time.
Proposals should address questions pertinent to current creative, technological, cultural, curatorial, aesthetic, and theoretical issues in New Media Art. This session is not intended for showing personal work. The New Media Caucus publishes simultaneous web and print-on-demand CAA Conference editions yearly in its journal Media-N. Participants are expected to provide materials for publication.
The session will be held in the Bar Louie in the South Loop on Friday, February 14. The venue has a full bar and kitchen items available for purchase, and there will be time after the presentations for mingling and discussion.
