The Digital Media Arts Program at Hamline University, Saint Paul, MN seeks applicants for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Digital Media. Applicants should have demonstrated abilities in Graphic Design and Interactive Media and a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment.
The Digital Media Arts Program is a part of the College of Liberal Arts and is associated with programs in Art History, Studio Art, Music, Theatre, Dance and Creative Writing. The program is developing a unique curriculum that fuses theory with practice. To help accomplish this goal, working professionals teach in the program and consult with the full-time faculty. The Digital Media Arts curriculum is inherently interdisciplinary, with connections to programs of study across the University. The program has two new dedicated lab/teaching facilities and specialized experiment space.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold an MFA in graphic design or a compatible new media design field, be a teaching/artist with an engaging body of work and expertise in graphic design and interactive media. Besides teaching courses in graphic design and interactive media, the candidate will also participate in teaching an Introduction to Digital Media course, the senior seminar, regular student portfolio reviews and may also teach courses in areas of interest as opportunities arise. The ability to work closely with colleagues across the University and actively participate in the life of the University is expected.
