Baltimore’s EMP Collective has been lauded as one of the boldest “visions to change Baltimore” by Baltimore Magazine. In their mission to erode stereotypes of the white-wall gallery setting and bring new work to audiences on a visceral level, this week the EMP space will open Connect the Dots in their downtown Baltimore multi-use arts space.
Through the exhibition and performances, fifteen multidisciplinary artists examine the notion of indescribable human connection. Curated by dancer and choreographer Erin Rehberg (InterArts Media MFA 2009), the exhibition fuses dance, movement, visual art, video, and music into an electric gallery show and limited-run event.

Columbia’s InterArts program is also represented by current third year graduate students Jackie McGill (Book and Paper), who will exhibit her artists’ books The Art of Making Music and This I Swear, and Mike LaHood (Media), who is presenting his interdisciplinary work Covalence.

The exhibition opens March 22 at 7:00 pm., with live performances beginning around 8:00 p.m. An additional evening of performance presentations is scheduled for Saturday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. For more information and directions, click here.
