    –the making of–
    Ulrike Stoltz and Uta Schneider

    Uta Schneider and Ulrike Stoltz both hold a degree in visual communication from Hochschule für Gestaltung-Offenbach Academy of Art and Design and share 27 years of experience as collaborating artists and book artists. Both have a wide-ranging insight into international book arts. From 1986 until 2001 they were founding members of the book artists’ collective Unica T (“Unica T is a ficticious person, making real books.”). In 2002 they founded “usus,” thus continuing their long collaboration.

    Uta Schneider is also a freelancing lecturer, and has conducted book art and book design workshops since 1995 around the globe, including Egypt, Germany, Romania, and Switzerland. Her most recent workshop/presentations have been at the Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune (India) and at Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University.
