Anchor Graphics at Columbia College Chicago is a fine art printshop that brings together, under professional guidance, a diverse community of youth, emerging and established artists, and the public to advance the fine art of printmaking by integrating education with the creation of prints.
An Anchor Graphics Intern’s job will consist mostly of assisting at the press in the printing of editions for Anchor Graphics publishing projects. Interns will also assist with projects by visiting artists and Artists in Residence, and may assist in teaching students during Anchor Graphics day printmaking workshops, tours and demonstrations.
Time may also be spent on research/experimentation and independent print projects learning traditional stone lithography and etching.
Additional tasks include regular studio maintenance, documenting print archives, cleaning.
