Call for Submissions: How to Read a Book

Lawton Gallery: University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is now accepting proposals for work in 2 & 3 dimensions, installations and new media projects.

The Lawton Gallery is the University’s Art Gallery and presents six exhibitions per year. Three of these yearly exhibitions are devoted to student/faculty work and the other three are open to one person, two person or group shows. The Lawton is closed during the summer months (June-August).

The Lawton has 150 linear feet of wall space and 150 linear feet of moveable wall space. The gallery is approximately 1700 square feet. Lawton Floorplan

Review Process
Proposals are reviewed by Lawton Gallery staff on an ongoing basis, and at least once during each Fall and Spring semester.

Proposal Guidelines
1. A resume, artist statement and other supporting materials.
2. Self-addressed envelope large enough for return of all your materials. No returns without an SASE.
3. Documentation of your work. Please do not send original artwork, master slides or tapes.

• Visual Art:Visual Art: Up to 30 images on a CD (please do not send as email attachments unless requested to do so). Please label or number works and provide accompanying list with further information (title/date/medium /size etc…).
• Video Art: DVD, VHS or 3/4” videotape
• Performance Art: DVD, VHS or 3/4” videotape. Additional still images on a CD are welcome.

Sales, Insurance & Transportation
The Lawton Gallery charges a 30% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for insuring work to and from the gallery. Insurance is provided while the work is in the gallery. Transportation costs incurred in delivery and return of work are the responsibility of the artist. Depending upon circumstances, sometimes the Lawton will be able to make a contribution to traveling expenses.

The Lawton Gallery will endeavor to review your work in a timely manner. The Lawton Gallery is not responsible for any loss or damage. Proposals submitted without sufficient return postage will not be returned.
