Glowing reviews for new self-titled release of Wooden Rings, featuring recent InterArts alumnus

Wooden Rings will celebrate their CD release of their new “Acoustic Chamber Pop” sound Saturday, June 2, preceded by some glowing media reviews. WXRT Chicago Radio’s Local Anesthetic show featured the band’s music this past May in three airings, and in talking about the work, radio show host Richard Milne said “Vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Ramah Jihan Malebranche is coming out of a Fairport Convention/Renaissance/acoustic Yes vibe… The best music I’ve heard come out of Chicago all year.”

In another extensive and detailed review, the online journal Stereo/Pirate described the music as “having an intimate expression of feelings through the delicate balance of words and sounds.”

The June 2 CD release event will be at Schuba’s on Chicago’s near north side, starting at 9:00 p.m. More information on the music and its creators can be found here.
