This past Thursday evening the Center for Book and Paper arts hosted Switzerland-based designer Dafi Kühne for his Visiting Artist Lecture. Kühne presented his innovative approaches to letterpress printing, using examples from his Woodtype-Now! project, as well as ideas and examples of work from his ongoing artistic practice at studio babyinktwice.
His many samples of letterpress posters, postcards, flyers, brochures, and magazines for music, art, theater and film projects give a hint of what’s in store for participants in the two upcoming workshops, From Digital to Analog: The Printing Block (October 29–30, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) and Design and Print: Cardboard (October 31–November 2, 5:00–9:00 p.m.)
