And He Flew Over the Forest – an original play with music developed by Brain Surgeon Theater (Gwen Tulin, MFA Interarts & Media ’13, Artistic Director).
During what could be her family’s last trip together, a young girl returns to a world of her own creation. While her family crumbles around her, Leah seeks solace in her imaginary universe only to discover that it too is collapsing. Creatures are leaving the forest, old friends are changing, and she doesn’t know who to trust anymore. The Great Nothing is coming and Leah must face it alone. Divided between two worlds, she must decide where she belongs.
Featuring Elise Mayfield, MA Interarts ’13 (Singer), Joseph Riley, MA Interarts ’09 (Set Design), Gwen Tulin (Director); Katie Canavan (Beth), Emma Coleman (Nora), Kyle Erkonen (Dimpleberry/Cliff), AJ Miller (Will), Lily Moore (Leah), Jessie Mutz (Becky), Justin Vidovic (Gideon); produced by Liz Ladach-Bark; stage managed by Chris Chapin; costumes by Ashley Ann Woods; lights by Mike Smith; sound by Kirstin Johnson, original music by Gwen Tulin; guitar by Charles Worth and Carrie Shemanski; photography by Ryan Ward Thompson.
