The Tree Whispers project is something created by two of our alumni: Marilyn Sward & Pam Paulsrud. The info below from recent alum Erin Cramer includes a link to the Dard Hunter website, that is promoting the project’s anniversary.
1.) If you happen to find yourself in Oregon, please go see a group show that I am in called “The Naked Book” at 23 Sandy Gallery in Portland. Show opens Thursday, March 4 from 5:00 -8:00 and Friday, March 5 from 6:00 -8:00. That’s two days of free cheese. I love Oregon. The show will be up until March 27. All of the books are available for purchase at the gallery or from the on-line catalog. www.23sandygallery.com
2.) I was surprised and delighted to find my tree image on the Dard Hunter website today. cool. and sweet. (Dard Hunter was/is the king of the handmade paper geeks) It is the tenth anniversary of “Tree Whispers” and you should check it out.
In the words of the Tree Whisper project : It’s about trees—and you!
You’re invited to be a part of Tree whispers—an ongoing international collaboration involving handmade paper, art and stories honoring trees.
The Dard site has the info and links: http://dardhunter.blogspot.com
3.) Also, my sister in law’s play “The Long Red Road” was extended to March 21th. yay! More Katy Sullivan! The Sun Times review called her performance “a pitch perfect portrayal.”
Channel 7 news (ABC) is going to do an interview with her on March 10 in the morning. We don’t know if that means she will be on the news that night or later in the week…I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.
