Funded initially by a Critical Encounters grant, this anthology showcases some of the writing that students at Columbia are creating as part of their coursework. It provides a platform for Columbia College’s first-year writing students to communicate to an audience beyond their teachers and classmates. In this way, it serves a very similar function to ImPrint, a collection of student work created in sections of Columbia College’s First-Year Seminar.
While showcasing student writing remains the primary goal of this anthology, these essays may also be useful in a variety of ways to instructors at Columbia College. The editors have created a page available on Moodle to begin a discussion about different ways the essays might be used in the first-year writing courses.
