Photojournalist Rob Hart on what inspires him to teach and to document stories

Rob Hart teaches Digital Storytelling in the Communication and Media Innovation Department. This required course for Journalism and Photojournalism majors teaches students the fundamentals of visual storytelling with photography and video. A veteran photojournalist and graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Hart is a protege of the legendary John H. White, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer who worked with Hart at the Sun-Times.

Professors and instructors in the CMI do what they teach. In this interview with Saiyna Bashir, Hart talks about his first class at Columbia in 1997 and how it changed his life.
