APHA Conference Opens Today at CBPA

{ Posted by K. Beste on 12.10.2012 }

This year’s American Printing History Association annual conference begins to day at the Center for Book and Paper Arts, and features formal papers, presentations, and panels combined with tours of local collections, studios and other spots of interest to historians of printing. New presentations and features of interest special to this year’s conference include the Book Fair + Pop-Up Museum, featuring staff from the Hamilton Wood Type Museum and Platin Press.

As a happy coincidence, the 2012 APHA conference takes place at CBPA during the Johanna Drucker retrospective DRUCKWORKS: 40 Years of Books and Projects, currently on display in the CBPA gallery, providing APHA members with an opportunity to view the exhibition and take in Drucker’s prolific career history.

Additional exhibitions that will be of interest to APHA members are also on display during the conference weekend, including Dan S. Wang: Not A Printing Office, in the Columbia College Art and Design Department (623 S. Wabash Avenue), and Ink On Paper, the APHA student member show on the second floor of 1104 South Wabash Avenue.
