The Art & Art History Department at Columbia College Chicago is pleased to present a lecture by Naomi Beckwith Thursday, December 10 at 6:00 p.m., 623 S. Wabash, Room 203.

Naomi Beckwith is the Marilyn and Larry Fields Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. A Chicago native, she previously served as associate curator at The Studio Museum in Harlem and as the Whitney Lauder Curatorial Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. She is a guest blogger for Art21 at PBS.org, sits on the board of the Laundromat Project, and she has curated and co-curated countless exhibitions around the country.

Beckwith received an MA with Distinction from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, completing her Master’s thesis on Adrian Piper and Carrie Mae Weems, and a BA in history from Northwestern University in Illinois. She was a 2009 grantee of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and was named the 2011 Leader to Watch by ArtTable as well as Newcity’s Art Leader of the Moment, 2015.
