B & P Student Woody Leslie in Exhibitions, Roundtable in GA & NYC

Second-year Book & Paper student Woody Leslie has work in two different national exhibitions this month. Two of his books (Understanding Molecular Typography by H.F. Henderson, and One Minute) are being shown in The Book As Art 3.0: No Jacket Required at the Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur in Decatur, GA that runs until September 18. The exhibition “emphasizes the art form that can be a delight to the eye, a pleasure to the hand, and made tangible in forms that introduce us not only to new interpretations of an ancient concept but also to questions and ideas on 21st century form and format.” The gala opening reception Thursday, September 3.

On September 16, 6:30 p.m – 8:00 p.m,. Leslie will be participating in a roundtable discussion of artists with work in the current exhibition /mit ðə detə/: Source Materials Visualized at the Center for Book Arts in NYC. /mit ðə detə/ presents artists’ books, book-related artworks, and text-based new media that are visual interpretations, extrapolations, and recontextualizations of researched source materials such as data analysis, surveying, mapping, plotting, data mining, statistics, analytics, observations, and schemes.
